Some Exciting News

I haven’t been blogging recently due to some recent exciting and tiresome events in my life. I will try to do this as often as I can, but just wanted to let everyone know what I have been up too lately.
Recently, Andrea my girlfriend and I found out she’s pregnant. And so much of my time is spent in and out of doctor’s office. But, regular doctor visits are of great magnitude at this time and require my full time and effort.
To complicate things, I was in the middle of excruciating pain of planning the perfect marriage proposal. So the baby definitely speeded things up and I needed to think fast; visiting near by Kay Jewelers was crucial.
Thanksgiving was definitely time to give and so I did; preparing exquisitely romantic dinner and getting on one knee offering marriage. Following day, we decided to make our marriage official at the local town hall. We are planning on having a ceremony early December of next year.
Little Bit About Her:
Andrea is a student at Salem State College majoring in Biology. One day, she hopes to be a pharmacist. Andrea enjoys new movie Twilight so much I had to see it twice already.

We all know global warming is upon us, right? Well, I believe it is. So, in an effort to become more environmentally aware, I researched the ways I can be and stay green. While conducting my research, I came across a web site Greener Photography. Greener Photography is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 by two Digital Forum Members, Thea Dodds and Dawn Tacker. The organization believes in four core values: Preservation, Reduction, Local Production and Cruelty-Free.
Browsing around the website, I immersed my self in vast amounts of information available to help the environment. I strongly recommend everyone who cares about global warming and our environment, to support Greener Photography and the great work they do. Moreover, if you are a photographer you can join and be recognized as a photographer who cares. I did.
My research returned many articles and resources that can help you become environmentally aware:

Choosing a Wedding Photographer
By Alen Abdula

Choosing a wedding photographer can be very stressful. However, it doesn't have to be. So, here are few things to consider during your initial consultation before choosing a wedding photographer.
- Photographic Style – Once the photographer is well experienced with the basics of photography he/she takes advantage of those skills and uses them in such a way to create unique style. This style is sometimes influenced by recent trends and movements in wedding photography.
- Personality – Determine set of characteristics or behavioral traits that your photographer possesses. Examine those traits and see if there’s any chemistry between you and the photographer. Are you going to be comfortable with the photographer?
- Appearance – Observe your photographer closely and note his/her façade. Is the photographer well dressed? Is he/she going to be well dressed during the wedding?
- Contract – Contract is a legal document conjoining two parties together to do or refrain from doing an act which is enforceable in a court of law. This document is a promise of services and should be followed and reviewed very closely with the photographer. Make sure the photographer explains, in detail, all the clauses in the contract.
- Services and Delivery – Review closely, the services offered by the photographer and ask questions relating to delivery and turn around time.
- Deposits (Retainer) and Payments – Discuss the payment details with the photographer and bring about variety of questions such as: What is the percentage for deposits or is there a flat fee? When is the full payment due? Do you offer any payment plans?
- References – Ask the photographer to present references from two most recent weddings. References can be very helpful, if the photographer is reluctant to provide a list of references, you should be disinclined to book them.

Digital Negatives
By Alen Abdula

Digital negative is similar to a frame in 35mm film strip. It’s the collection of RAW unaltered digital data presented in the image. Images that you see on this website and in our wedding albums are not digital negatives. These images are prepared for specific purpose and altered in a specialized way.
You will get the original images from the camera no alterations will be applied. The image format will be in JPEG format with color profile of sRGB.
- JPEG - Is the most common image format used by digital cameras and other photographic image capture devices.
- sRGB - is a standard RGB (Red Green Blue) color space created cooperatively by HP and Microsoft for use on monitors, printers, and the Internet.
